Luca Rocchini
DOP
Luca Rocchini is an award-winning Director of Photography and Camera Operator based in London. Luca started out with street photography and by 2005 he began shooting Documentaries while also studying at the National Film School in Ireland.
Since then he has shot an eclectic variety of international Films, Series, Commercials, Installations and Music Promos. His collaborations have been screened and won awards in festivals around the world. His work has been produced and distributed by production companies such as; SKY, AMAZON, MUBI, SHOWTIME, HISTORY CHANNEL and CNN, for organisations such as; TATE GALLERY, BFI, ARTS COUNCIL ENGLAND, SOUTHBANK CENTRE and HACKNEY COUNCIL as well as commercial companies such as GOOGLE, META, HSBC, SAMSUNG, PREMIER LEAGUE, CHRISTIE'S, PFIZER, UBER and UNITED AIRLINES. Luca won the WORLD CINEMATOGRAPHY AWARD at the Amsterdam International Film Festival and the Best Cinematography Award at the Encounter Film Festival.
Luca's work has been described as eclectic, efficient, adaptable and non-repetitive. He is well experienced with both digital and film cameras. As a DOP, he always aims to work closely with the director in order to develop the best approach for characterisation and the narrative of the film. He takes into account budget limitations and works together with the producers in order to create the best production values possible. He is also very happy to work as part of the team on bigger productions as camera operator and 2nd Unit DOP bringing with him a positive attitude and approach. Finally, Luca relishes the sharing of ideas and learning from others.
