Nathalie Maher is an Egyptian filmmaker based in London, she started off as an Editor and Development Assistant in Ambient Light productions. There she worked on several short and long form documentaries that revolved around social and political topics in the MENA region. From Syrian refugees in Jordan, street children in Egypt and female Kurdish fighters, her aim was to find human faces to broad topics. She was Development Assistant and Assistant Director on the feature documentary ‘Captains of Zaatari’, which premiered in Sundance in 2020. She pursued an MA degree in 2019 and has worked on several short films as an Assistant Director and Editor. Her latest project as a 1st Assistant Director is '54 days' starring Celia Imire.
