Layla Snell is an Archive Footage and Stills Producer with over 6 years experience in the industry. With a history BA Hons, she is truly passionate about archive content and understands the invaluable way it can help to shape and tell stories unlike any other medium. After graduating, Layla gained a place as one of sixteen on a highly competitive and sought after media archive traineeship, organised by Creative Skillset in partnership with Film London. Layla then went onto work in archive houses such as the Associated Press Archive, BBC Archive and Kinolibrary; a boutique film archive agency based in London. Working within archive houses has given Layla an excellent wealth of knowledge of content copyright, footage and stills licensing, archival research and handling and she has amassed a huge network of contacts within the media archive industry. After three years working her way up to 'Head of Research' at Kinolibrary, Layla felt confident that, with the skills she had acquired, she could successfully make the leap to become a freelance archive researcher. Layla has since worked on a variety of feature films, documentaries and TV series.
