I produced this prime-time 60-minute documentary, that I created and got commissioned, exploring the UK’s £2.25bn flower industry both here and in the world's flower trading centre, the Netherlands. I gained access to the largest flower organisation in the world - FloraHolland, Covent Garden Flower Market (we were the first documentary crew allowed to shoot in Covent Garden Flower Market), Flower Council of Holland, ASDA's flower department, top florists, flower growers, and other major floral organisations. I cast big characters in Holland and Britain, conducted all the interviews, self-shot, directed, researched, story produced, conducted recces, and produced all the shoots.
Key Achievement: Gaining access to the of whole flower industry in the Netherlands and the UK.

Title: Accused: Guilty or Innocent?

Additional Information: I worked up the stories the Casting Researchers found and turned them into case files to be sent to the network for approval. The main part of my role was writing up the cases, helping the execs and commissioners understand the accused’s point of view, flagging any welfare or legal concerns, looking for holes and inconsistences in the stories, research, working with the Researchers to get additional information from the attorneys, making sure the cases worked for the series, and staff development and training.
Key achievement: Turning around case files extremely quickly for cases with imminent trial dates.

Additional Information: I was a Field Producer on The Kardashians organising a shoot at Harrods where Kylie Jenner and her daughter Stormi visited her cosmetics concession and had afternoon tea with friends. My role included securing filming permits, doing recces, gaining access to Harrods, hiring a PA, planning the logistics with Harrods and for our crew, organising transport, producing the second unit, and being the liaison for the location on the shoot.
Key achievement: Conducting a successful recce with Harrods so they agreed that we could film while the store was open.

Additional Information: I was the Series Casting Producer on the second series of the UK version of MTV’s hit reality-based documentary series Catfish. My role included managing the casting team and overseeing their stories, legal and compliance, story submissions to our exec, creating content for our casting call, outreach, conducting phone applications, recording and cutting Zoom casting tapes, writing one pagers, supporting potential contributors through the application process, running background checks, psychological assessments and contributor welfare, conducting face-to-face meetings with cast, persuading catfish to come onboard, working with the story producers to create the best episodes possible, casting supporting roles, producing the contributors on shoots, supporting the cast through post production, assisting the edit, and recruiting and training new staff.
Key achievement: It was my idea to bring Catfish to my homeland of Ireland for the very first time.

Additional Information: Cast the co-presenter and self-builders for this new BBC Two primetime property series. This was very challenging as each house’s final budget – materials through to labour – could cost no more than £100,000 and the home had to be completed by the end of Spring 2013.
Key Achievement: Finding the last 3 self-builds to feature on the 6 part series.

I headed up the casting and shooting teams for this one-off primetime documentary – working with an AP I recruited to find stories – newspapers, online and outreach, pitched them to our exec, tracked-down contributors via social media, their employers and other means, conducted phone interviews, wrote one-pagers and biographies, got stories signed-off with our exec and commissioner, scripted, produced and conducted green screen interviews on location shot by a camera op, collated UGC, found and negotiated additional archive and UGC, ran background checks, and supported the edit.
Key achievement: Finding a last-minute original story on the road via a Facebook post to replace a dropout.

Additional Information: I led the team – a Casting Producer, 2 APs and 2 Researchers – casting the contributors and finding the destinations for the holiday version of Rich House, Poor House. The role included recruiting my own team, coming up with various casting strategies – targeted street, events, online and mailing lists, casting at events, conducting phone interviews, recording Skypes, shooting taster tapes, writing biographies, going to commissioner meetings, hosting team meetings, selecting suitable destinations, finding accommodation and activities, liaising with schools and councils over child licences, and conducting recce visits to potential contributors and locations.
Key achievement: Finding a wealthy family who allowed us to use their luxury private villa with staff as the holiday destination for the low-income family in the same episode.

We conducted and edited Skype interviews with the kids and their families and arranged psychological assessments.

Also coming up with fun but intelligent tasks, presenter suggestions and other format points for this exciting show that celebrates the fact that the 21st century is the era of the geek.
Key Achievement: Setting-up and running an open audition casting stand at Comic Con that resulted in 300 applications.

The song is a mashup of Men Without Hats' 'Safety Dance' and David Bowie's 'Magic Dance' from Labyrinth. The 'Safety Dance' section was filmed at the location of the original music video.
